Prof. Dr. phil. Alberto de Campo

Alberto de Campo is Professor for Generative Art / Computational Art at the Institute for Time-Based Media since 2009. His research focuses on computer music and computational art, generative art, audiovisual performances with complex systems, sonification of scientific data and interdisciplinary arts and practices.

He studied jazz guitar, electronic music and composition at the Graz University of Art, undertook research and taught at CREATE, UC Santa Barbara, IEM Graz, KHM Cologne, and hold the Edgard Varèse's guest professor for electronic music at the TU Berlin. From 2005-2007 he was the lead researcher at 'SonEnvir' (IEM Graz), researching the sonification of data for various scientific contexts; For this dissertation (2009). From 2007-2009 he was professor for musicinformatics at the Robert Schumann Hochschule Düsseldorf. From 2013-2016 he was the lead researcher at '3DMIN Design, Development and Dissemination of New Musical Instruments'.
