UdK Student Nele Schwierkus Receives a CAA Mentors Fellowship 2010This year’s Mentors Fellowship in the field of Fine Art has been awarded to UdK student Nele Schwierkus by the Contemporary Arts Alliance Berlin (CAA). Born in 1979, the artist has been studying at Berlin University of the Arts since 2004, in Prof. Florian Slotawa’s class since 2009. Investigating the world in which she lives, her striking plastic works display characteristic humour, revealing the artist’s highly-developed sense of the visual and acoustic presence of objects, and her playful interest in experiment. |

moreLaunch of the Online Portal “open: output” with Prof. Fons Hickmann’s ClassProf. Fons Hickmann’s class of Graphic Design/ Communications Design is being featured along with selected works from recent semesters at the launch of “open: output”. “open: output” is a new online portal, on which students from the fields of architecture and design can present their work to the public. It sees itself as a platform showing the best works by young talents in design and architecture online. Each month, the portal will present a selected university or a class (“Feature School Show”). “open: output” is a project initiative by the open: output foundation, a non-profit organisation in Amsterdam that aims to promote young talents and offer a platform for the exchange of ideas. |
