Prof. Dr. Ric Allsopp
Visiting Professor

Studied at Dartington College of Arts (BA Hons.) and the Universities of Warwick (MA), Exeter and Plymouth (Ph.D) . From 1984 - 90 he was Lecturer in Theatre at Dartington. From 1990 - 94 he was a Research Associate with the Centre for Performance Research in Cardiff, Wales and taught theoretical courses in performance at the School for New Dance in Amsterdam. In 1992 he co-founded Writing Research Associates (WRA) withScott deLahunta, an international partnership organising, promoting and publishing in the expanded field of performance. Projects include Migrations (Centre for Contemporary Culture, Barcelona, 2000); In the Event of Text (HKU, Utrecht, 1999) and Performance Writing: A Symposium (Dartington,1996).
He has performed, lectured, run workshops and organised events widely in Europe and elsewhere, and is currently Reader in Performance Research and Director of the Writing at Dartington College of Arts, UK.

Dr. Christiane Berger
Visiting lecturer

After completing her degree in Theatre Studies and Philosophy at the FU Berlin, she wrote her doctoral thesis on the perception of physical dance movement. She has participated in numerous independent theatre and dance productions as choreographer, dramaturge and production assistant. She is responsible for the module „Context and Dramaturgy“ of the MA-programme “Choreography”. She is also the coordinator of the International Research Training Group “InterArt” at the Free University Berlin since 2004.

Kristin Guttenberg
Assistant lecturer

Studied physiotherapy at the vocational school of the University Hospital Freiburg/ Breisgau and health pedagogy at College of Applied Science at Munich. She is trained additionally as a Yoga teacher. She works as assistant lecturer at the Kurt-Singer-Institut für Musikergesundheit/ UdK and other colleges.

Nik Haffner
Member of the board of directors

Studied art history at Giessen University and dance at the Australian Ballet School in Melbourne. In 1994 he joined Ballet Frankfurt. In the past few years he has worked increasingly in film and multimedia and has created video installations for several of William Forsythe's pieces. Since contributing to the CD-ROM "Improvisation Technologies", he has also worked regularly with the ZKM, Centre for Art and Media Technology in Karlsruhe. Now a freelance dancer and choreographer, he is making works for theatre, film and exhibitions. Since novmeber 2008 is currently guest professor at the HZT.

Hanna Hegenscheidt
Assistant lecturer

Studied Dance, Laban movement analysis, and Klein technique at Hamburg and New York. Since 1998 she teachs Klein technique and contemporary Dance in New York, England, and Berlin. She was as a teaching artist at Lincoln Center Institute for Aesthetic Education (NY). She is stuff member of the TanzZeit project (Berlin). Her choreographic work has shown in New York and Europe so far .

Prof. Rhys Martin
Professor. Study course development MA SODA "Solo/ Dance/ Authorship“

First graduated from Sydney University in literature and fine arts before his unconventional beginnings in dance as a member of Sydney's underground theatre scene. Here he was a founder member of Sydney's One Extra Dance Company under Kay Tai Chan and guest performer with companies such as the West Australian Ballet performing at the Sydney Opera House. After briefly freelancing in England, He moved in 1981 to Germany to become a member of Reinhild Hoffman's dance theatre ensemble in Bremen and Bochum touring extensively internationally with the company. Since 1986 he has worked as freelance director and choreographer in dance, opera, film and theatre. He was awarded first prize at the Unesco XII Choreographer's Competion in Cologne, and at the Theaterzwang Theatre Festival in Nordrhein-Westfalen, been recommended for a London New Choreographers Award and received a special mention in the Concours de Lausanne in Switzerland. As a teacher he has worked extensively in Germany and internationally. He is currently professor of dance and musical staging at the University of the Arts in Berlin.

Prof. Helge Musial
Visiting professor

has been working since 2005 as a lecturer and since 2007 as senior lecturer at Dartington College of Arts in England in the Department for Choreography. From 1997 until 2005, he worked as a movement trainer, choreographer and teacher for dance techniques at the Drama Department of the University of the Arts Berlin. He choreographed e.g. for the Ballet of the Staatsoper Unter den Linden Berlin and the Norrdans Company/ Sweden; moreover he has worked e.g. for the Korean National Theatre, the Hans Otto Theatre Potsdam, the Staatstheater Karlsruhe, the Schaubühne am Lehniner Platz, the Sophiensäle and the Maxim Gorki Theatre in Berlin. Many of his pieces for the independent scene have been funded by the City of Berlin and presented at dance and theatre festivals across Europe, as well as e.g. in Russia and Canada, the USA, Southeast Asia and South America.

Prof. Ingo Reulecke

Ingo Reulecke studierte nach einer zeitgenössischen Tanzausbildung Choreographie an der Hochschule für Schauspielkunst "Ernst Busch" in Berlin. Seine Choreographien wurden mehrfach ausgezeichnet und zu zahlreichen Festivals im In- und Ausland geladen, u.a. die Produktion "EKLIPSE" 1997 zur deutschen Tanzplattform in München und zum internationalen Choreographie Wettbewerb nach Bagnolet/Frankreich. Mit einem DAAD Jahresstipendium ging er 1998 nach NYC. Das Stück „diminuendo 2“ erhielt 2006 den 1. Preis im VorOrt Festival in Münster. Für das Stück "unsere tage wie schatten" arbeitete er mit Lukas Matthaei fürs FFT Düsseldorf zusammen. 2008 übernimmt Ingo Reulecke die künstlerische Leitung der TMA im Rahmen des Kunstfestes Weimar. 2009 arbeitet er erneut mit Lukas Matthaei für "2109" zusammen und mit Ayat Nafaji für "Lady Tehran". Ka Rustler
Assistant lecturer

studied at the Theatreschool for New Dance Development in Amsterdam to become a dancer and choreographer. She completed the four-year certified Body-Mind-Centering Programme to become a physical and movement therapist in the USA. Her focus lies on bringing together traditional dance techniques, contemporary forms of movement and personal body research. She teaches at private and state institutions in Germany and abroad. Her choreographies for the stage and for film have been presented at numerous festivals in Europe and the USA.

Isabelle Schad
Assistant lecturer

is a choreographer and dancer and lives in Berlin. She co-initiated ‘good work’ together with Ben Anderson and Bruno Procheron Isabelle Schad studied classical dance from 1981-1990 in Stuttgart and danced from 1990-96 in various classical companies. Then she started creating her own work. She was a member of ULTIMA VEZ/ Wim Vandekeybus, Olga Mesa, Angela Guerreiro, Felix Ruckert and Eszter Salamon. She has developed since 1999 numerous projects and dance performances of her own in close collaboration with other choreographers, musicians as well as visual artists.
