Since October 2020, Jöran Balks is a trainee for university management within the Office of Funded Programmes and Corporate Relations. After finishing his Bachelor’s degree (2009-2012) in German Literature and Political Science at the Free University of Berlin and die University of Wroclove (Poland), and his Master’s degree in Medieval German Literatur (2012-2016), he continued his studies as a scholarship holder at the graduate school ‘Intersektionalität Interdisziplinär’ at the Kiel University (2016-2020). There, wrote a dissertation on the intersectional complexity of the forming of collective identity in medieval German romances. In 2016, he also held a teaching assignment at Kiel University’s Department of German Literature.
