Since October 2022, Jöran Balks serves as the President's Advisor and Coordinator for the Excellence Strategy.
After completing his bachelor's degree (2009-2012) in German philology and political science at the Free University Berlin and the University of Wroclaw (Poland) and his master's degree in older German literature at FU Berlin (2012-2016), he received his doctorate as a scholarship holder in the project college 'Intersectionality Interdisciplinary' at Kiel University 2020-2022. Most recently, he was a Trainee for Higher Education Management in the UdK's Office of Strategy and Higher Education Policy 2020-2022.
