Helge Harding

short vita

Enabling natural musical expression by means of a profound technique is what Helge Harding’s clarinet lessons are all about.

The development of hearing, training of reflection and a good understanding of the material are integral in accomplishing a meaningful and lively interpretation of the best sound quality at any time. This orientation essentially traces back to the Russian Piano Method. Ultimately however, the needs and goals of the student significantly determine the choice of methods and repertoire.

Helge Harding is a member of the German Clarinet Association and the International Clarinet Association. Many years of teaching experience at various institutions brought him to UdK Berlin in 2007. His artistic experiences include engagements in opera and concert orchestras, in ensembles for contemporary music as well as solo and chamber music.

He received his professional education at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam (postgraduate diploma), Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts (artistic diploma) and the University of Music Detmold, Dortmund Department (pedagogical training).

Karl Leister invited him to co-direct a joint masterclass and play numerous concerts in 2014. Other significant influences came from Yehudi Menuhin, Pierre Boulez and Marek Janowski.
