Marie-Irène Igelmann

Marie-Irène Igelmann was a trainee in the Press/Communications department at Berlin University of the Arts from December 2022 to February 2024, focusing on visual arts and design.

She studied theater studies in Paris, Toronto, Brussels and Berlin. Alongside her studies, she worked as an intern and assistant in the areas of production, directing, and dramaturgy at various theaters, such as the Schauspielhaus Bochum, Schauspiel Essen, and Berliner Festspiele. From 2015-2020, she was a predoctoral research and teaching fellow at the Institute for Theater Studies at Freie Universität Berlin. In 2016, she also served as interim assistant to Thomas Ostermeier at Schaubühne Berlin. During her doctoral dissertation on Denis Diderot, Princeton University hosted her for an academic year from 2019-2020. She has received fellowships from the Princeton Graduate School, the Berlin Consortium for German Studies, and the Dahlem Humanities Center to support her research. She was a scholar of the German National Academic Foundation. Most recently, Marie-Irène Igelmann worked as a Product Manager at a financial technology start-up in Berlin, where she discovered her affinity for digital topics and communicating complex technical issues.
