Information for Refugees
Is it possible to study at UdK Berlin as a refugee?
Yes, you can apply at UdK Berlin but you have to fulfill the same entrance requirements as all applicants. Nearly all programs are taught in German (exceptions are: Master Solo/Dance/Authorship, Jazz Master programs and Master Sound Studies and Sonic Arts). This means that you need to submit a proof of the required language level together with your application.
You can only apply within the application period specific to the chosen programme. You can find further information concerning study courses on our website https://www.udk-berlin.de/en/home/. By clicking on "Courses" you will find an overview of all the study programmes. The Information on the application procedure as well as deadlines are to be found at the bottom of the page.
How high are tuition fees?
Every student has to pay about 320 Euros per semester. Included in this fee is a ticket for Berlin public transport called "Semesterticket". Once you are a student at UdK you can seek financial assistance for your "Semesterticket" through ASTA, which is the General Student Council of the UdK Berlin.
How can I get financial support?
The BAföG (Berufsausbildungsförderungsgesetz) is a state loan for students in German universities and colleges. Refugee students are entitled to BAföG under certain circumstances. For more Information please click here.
