Lola Arias (Argentina, 1976) is a writer, theater and film director. She is a multifaceted artist whose work crosses people from different backgrounds (war veterans, former communists, migrant children, etc.) in theatre, film, literature, music and visual art projects. Since 2007 she has worked in the field of documentary theatre, creating plays in collaboration with people who have lived through different events or historical experiences. For example “Familienbande“ (Münchner Kammerspiele, Munich, 2009), “That Enemy Within” (HAU, Berlin, 2010), “Minefield” (Royal Court Theatre, London, 2016), “What they want to hear” (Münchner Kammerspiele, Munich, 2018) and “Futureland” (Maxim-Gorki Theatre, Berlin, 2019). She also works in the medium of film, visual arts, music and literature.
