Medienhaus

The Berlin University of the Arts’ building on Grunewaldstraße, bordering Kleistpark, in the district of Berlin-Schöneberg is commonly known as the Medienhaus (media house). Under its roof, you can find the study program Visual Communication (VK), the study program Art and Media (KuM), the Design program’s specialization Interactive Systems (ID5), and the specialization Audiovisual Communication of the study program Communication in Social and Economic Contexts (GWK).

The Institute of Transmedia Design (ITG) represents the interests of the Visual Communication program, while the members of the Institute of Time-Based Media (IZM) come from the study programs Art and Media, Visual Communication, Communication in Social and Economic Contexts, and Design.

With the Medienhaus, the UdK Berlin brings together all media-related specialized courses and disciplines within the College of Architecture, Media and Design, thus enabling a diverse network of connections between these areas and beyond the fields of traditional and digital media. During the “Rundgang – Open Days” of the UdK Berlin, the Medienhaus regularly showcases the entire spectrum of teaching and research.
