An Experimental Ecology. Art practice in dialogue between the disciplines at the UdK Berlin
Open Call
Projects for the opening of the anniversary of the Berlin University of the Arts 2025 - submit by 31 October.
The Berlin University of the Arts will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2025. To mark the anniversary year, there will be numerous events and formats that will focus on the university's birthday in various ways. The opening will take place on the afternoon of 8 February 2025 at UNI.T - Theatre of the Berlin University of the Arts.
Conditions of Participation
Interdisciplinary projects are to be given a stage for the anniversary in 2025. Artistic projects are to be created that develop together from different disciplinary perspectives and open up space for new forms of practice under the roof of the institution. We would like to invite you to present already existing and new projects of transdisciplinary artistic co-operation to the public on this day. The projects can develop new concepts or continue and develop existing collaborations. If you would like to conceive a new project, at least two colleges, centres or study programmes of the university should be involved and a spatial and temporal performance at UNI.T should be possible. There won´t be a specified thematic framework and all colleges and centres are explicitly invited to submit projects. We are looking for a variety of formats: Performance, concert, reading, exhibition, installation, screening, dance, theatre, etc. All UdK Berlin members are eligible to participate, i.e. students, teachers, classes, groups, initiatives.
Selection and Support
Projects are selected after submission of a brief description and a rough cost estimate by the University Management together with the Department for Interfaculty Events. The university administration supports the selected projects with special funds in the amount of approx. 500 to 1,500 euros. The funds are made available directly to the responsible institute/college/centre, where they are administered and spent. The respective project group is responsible for monitoring the content of the projects. The UNI.T team can assist in the preparation of the performance during realisation, but personal commitment is expected for planning and technical implementation. If you have any questions, please contact the Department for Interfaculty Events.
Submission
If you would like to develop a project for this event and present it at UNI.T on 8 February, please submit the following documents to the Department for Interfaculty Events by 31 October 2024:
