Josephine Ann Endicott
JO ANN ENDICOTT studied classical ballet in Melbourne and subsequently danced for the Australian Ballet Company in Melbourne. From 1973 – 1987 she was a member of the ensemble of the Tanztheater Wuppertal. From 1994 she was guest dancer and the assistant of Pina Bausch, responsible for the rehearsal of the “Kontakthof with Ladies and Gentlemen over ‘65’” as well as “Kontakthof with teenagers over '14'” amongst other things. Jo Ann Endicott was a member of the Tanztheater Wuppertal until 2015. In 2017 she is rehearsing Pina Bausch's Le Sacre du Printemps with the dancers of the English National Ballet (Premiere 23rd March 2017). In May 2017 she will return to the Tanztheater Wuppertal for the new production of Arien. Books written by Jo Ann Endicott include „Ich bin eine anständige Frau!“ (I am a Respectable Woman!) published by Suhrkamp in 1999 and „Warten auf Pina. Aufzeichnungen einer Tänzerin“ (Waiting for Pina. Chronicles of a Dancer) published by Henschel in 2009.
