Dear friends of SoundS,

As we move towards spring, we are preparing ourselves for another focus phase here on the Sound Studies and Sonic Arts MA at UdK. Before the semester begins though, we would like to draw your attention to some opportunities to see what some of our students have been working on during this project phase semester.

It's our pleasure to invite you to upcoming events at Hošek Contemporary and SoundsAbout over the remaining weekends in March.

Crossfade at Hošek Contemporary

Firstly, this weekend Hošek Contemporary hosts Crossfade, an exhibition with video works and sound installations by Hisako Nakaoka, Helen Hines, Farhad Farzali, Thomas Lea Clarke & Yuchin Chen.

Crossfades entail meeting points, translation and transformation through the liminal space that witnesses the collision of two milieus, forces, media or technologies.

This exhibition brings together works that each engage with the concepts of transfer and transformation across boundaries and between formats.

Crossfade runs from 21st till 23rd March

MESH - SoundsAbout Season closing

We are also approaching the season closing at our student-run gallery SoundsAbout. This weekend and next will host final exhibitions of the current season by Gene Fin and Helen Hines. 

Since the the 2nd of February the gallery has hosted a weekly rotation of exhibitions, performances, discussions and concerts by Sound Studies and Sonic Arts students. This Season's thematic MESH celebrates disorganised connectivity, comprising the spaces beneath and between the net, showcasing the wide-ranging, friction-generating works with and around sound, within and beyond UdK Berlin.

21.03-23.03 - Gene Fin -   'Unwishing Machine'
28.03-30.03 - Helen Hines - 'We Forgive Nothing. We Forgive Everything'
