SoundS News - September 2020
Dear friends of SoundS,
We are happy to announce that our round of in-person workshops this summer have been succsessfully completed. We look forward to a new semester starting on 2 Novemeber 2020, with both online and in-person classes, in small groups and with great safety efforts.
Even more exciting is the news about our first round of Sound Studies and Sonic Arts students publicly defending their Master theses on 29/30 October 2020 at the Georg-Neumann-Saal.This being our first public event since march, we would be delighted to see you there! More details will be published soon.
While SoundS and the entire UdK have been working towards a safe and apporapriate education environment during Covid-19 times, life has not returned to normal and many of our students are still struggling. Our ongoing efforts to support students in need during financially hard times have been met with well received support and we were able to distribute 3,250€ from the ZIW emergency aid fund in the past two months.
Unfortunately we have not received any donations since August. In order to be able to assist our students, who are financially burdened by the Covid-19 crisis, we would like to solicit your financial support. Please do not hesitate to forward this newsletter to friends and supporters of the community.
Donations can be claimed from income tax (EStG §10b) up to a share of 20 percent of the total amount of your income or up to 4 per mille of the sum of the total turnover and the wages and salaries of companies spent in the calendar year (check also donation calculator and BMF zur Förderung von Corona Hilfen).
Please see the official appeal for donations below. For the sending of the donation receipt please indicate your name and postal address in addition to the keyword "CORONAHILFE ZIW". Students may apply for support from the ZIW Emergency Aid Fund till the 15th of each month.
