Dear friends of SoundS,

From 21 Jan - 15 March 2022, SoundsAbout is hosting 'Meridians: sonic manifestations of the in-between' with a full program of changing installations, exhibitions, performances, workshops and talks by SoundS students and collaborators.

With this series, we aim to hear conversations between worlds, geographies and communities and nest in the fissures between places and spaces. The zones of translation and contact between forms, languages and media are charted. Tensions between the self and others as well as those that open within the act of self-reflection are explored and unraveled. We question the power relations and choices that exist in these liminalities, allowing epiphanies and imaginaries to grow there.

SoundsAbout is a long-term collaboration of the Master’s program Sound Studies and Sonic Arts at the University Berlin with the gallery Zwitschermaschine. For three months every year, we set up a project space to present and discuss, question and celebrate the work and ideas of our students and their guests.
