Quantum Computing and Art – How and Why – Workshop
Introductory Talks at Hybrid Lab
What is quantum computing? How might it influence artistic practice? And what kind of art is already emerging from this rapidly evolving field? These questions are at the heart of an afternoon of talks organized by DESY and KIT-ITAS in collaboration with UdK. Designed for a general audience, this interdisciplinary event brings together artists and physicists to explore the creative and conceptual possibilities of quantum technologies.
Program at Hybrid Lab – May 16
14:00 — Opening: Quantum Computers and Art
Chris Kondek (UdK)
14:15 — Introduction to Quantum Computing
Tim Schwägerl (DESY)
15:00 — Quantum Computers in Music
Paolo Vitor Itaborai (DESY, Cyl)
16:15 — Quantum Computers in Visual Arts
Karl Jansen (DESY, Cyl)
17:00 — Quantum Art and Society
Adrian Schmidt (KIT ITAS)
17:15 — Discussion
This afternoon session serves as a prelude to a three-day conference and hands-on workshop on Quantum Computing and Art, to be held at DESY from July 9–11. Attendees interested in delving deeper will be encouraged to apply for the main event at the conclusion of the introductory session.
