Barbara Garnier grew up in France where she studied foreign languages and European Funding Management. Her professional career has taken her to Sweden, Italy and Great Britain. Since 2015 she has been working as an advisor at International Student Services. Her main areas of expertise are:

• Application and admission procedures for international applicants
• Advising  applicants with refugee background on study and further education programmes  (including the Integra programme "Fit für die Künste")
• Visa and residence permits
• Scholarship opportunities in and out of Germany (DAAD, Fulbright)
• Study Completion Grants for UdK Berlin international students (STIBET I)
