Sebastian Herold studied Visual Communication at the Bauhaus University Weimar. Since 2010, he has been working as a freelancer in the fields of photography and design and as a lecturer for the photography professorship at the Bauhaus University Weimar.

After arriving in Berlin, he founded Studio20-15 in 2012 in cooperation with the graphic design studio neon-bold.de.

Since the winter semester of 2018, Sebastian Herold has been working as an artistic lecturer and workshop manager in the Visual Communication course at the Institute for Transmedia Design at the Laboratory for Photography.
