Christoph Manz

Christoph Manz, born in Switzerland, studied cinematography at the Deutsche Film- und Fernsehakademie Berlin, where he was taught and mentored by figures such as Michael Ballhaus, Edward Yang, Sophie Maintigneux, Helmut Färber, Sławomir Idziak, Martin Kukula and Béla Tarr.
Since 2005 he has been teaching film and video at the Berlin University of the Arts. He also works as a cinematographer and in post-production for art projects and independent films and has collaborated with a wide range of artists and filmmakers, including Hito Steyerl, Simon Starling, Isa Genzken, Laura Poitras, Hartmut Bitomsky and Thomas Demand.
Responsibility
As a member of the Media Workshop at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Christoph Manz is the contact person for artistic projects involving film, video, sound recording and artificial intelligence.
