Kathrin Rusch has been working as a press officer at the Berlin Career College since January 2014; from 2018 to 2023, she was also a research assistant at KLANGZEITORT. A joint Institute for New Music of the UdK Berlin and HfM Hanns Eisler Berlin.

Kathrin Rusch completed her master's degree in musicology, cultural management and Romance studies (Italian) at the Hochschule für Musik "Franz Liszt" Weimar, the Friedrich-Schiller University Jena, the University of Leeds and the Università degli Studi di Firenze.
