So if you would like to organize a workshop, lecture, concert, etc., you will find all the information you need for financial support here. In addition to awarding funding, we as a working group regularly plan our own events on current topics with this focus.

The working group consists of various status groups from the Faculty of Music, decides jointly on applications and plans its own events. Everyone is welcome to become part of the committee. We are always happy to welcome new members!

Our budget of €8,500 for 2025 is financed by the “UdK incentive system”, which was introduced in 2000 to promote gender equality projects. This is based on the measures of the Berlin Higher Education Act and the Berlin Higher Education Treaty, which contain plans for the advancement of women and target agreements on equal opportunities. These stipulate that each faculty of the UdK has 1% of its budget available each year as so-called “incentive funds”. In the Faculty of Music, these funds are administered by the Feminist Project Funding Working Group, of which the Equal Opportunities Officers are also a part. The incentive system is used to finance funding applications and events organized by the working group in the faculty.
We, too, will not be spared the budget cuts made by the Berlin Senate (CDU-SPD) on December 19, 2024. As the smallest university in Berlin with correspondingly fewer financial reserves, the UdK has been hit particularly hard. Our available budget in the incentive system has been around €21,000 per year in recent years and has been cut to €8,500 for 2025.
We stand in solidarity with all other groups affected by the cuts and support the UdK student initiative Bildung braucht Budget!
Applications may only be submitted by members of the Faculty of Music. Students from other faculties should apply to their respective faculty.
External persons who wish to offer a workshop, lecture or similar with feminist content at the UdK can also apply.
We support
for example: Fees of invited persons and their travel expenses, material costs for flyers/posters, sheet music, further training, hygiene articles...

As a guide: the average funding amount last year was between 100 and 1,300 euros per application. We also fund partial amounts of applications.

Applications can be submitted by e-mail at any time. Ideally, you can expect a response within 3 weeks. If your application requires an earlier response, please let us know.
Honoraria
If a specific person is to be invited to an event and remunerated accordingly for their contribution, the following applies: The AG awards fees in accordance with the valid procedure at the UdK Berlin based on the qualifications of the respective person. The exact amount is therefore always decided on a case-by-case basis. In addition, funding can be applied for to cover travel expenses (see below).
If a student applicant is to be paid on a short-term hourly basis as part of a personal grant or a project, the hourly rate of the current collective agreement for student employees applies.
Contracts for work and services are awarded as part of a project for which people with specific expertise are required. If a specific “work” is to be produced (e.g. posters, flyers, etc.), a work contract is concluded with the persons carrying out the work. The work to be carried out and the fee are specified in the contract for work and services.
