25.06.2025: Women’s General Assembly
A look back at the Women’s General Assembly
On 25 June 2025, the central women's general assembly took place under the heading “Menopause in the workplace”. The researchers Dr Jennifer Chan de Avila and Prof Dr Sabine Nitsche (HTW Berlin) began with a comprehensive explanation of the physical and psychological changes that occur during the menopause. Afterwards, more than 30 female colleagues reported on their experiences of dealing with the challenges of the menopause in everyday life in an open and confidential circle and discussed how the university can better support affected women, for example through flexible working hours, retreats and training for managers. The event revealed a great need for information and a desire for more openness. Further presentations on menopause and endometriosis will follow as part of the Health Day on 11 November.
Women’s General Assembly of the University Administration
The Women’s General Assembly of the University Administration also took place this afternoon: The focus here was on the election of the new part-time Women’s and Equal Opportunities Officer. Jeanette Gogoll (Department for Funding and Cooperation) was elected unanimously and will form the new team from 1 August 2025 together with Charlotte Paulus (Department for Budget), who has already carried out the office with great energy and commitment over the past two years.
