Adjustments for Student Parents

Adjustments for Student Parents

Students with children can submit an informal application for compensation for disadvantages in the event of special family circumstances, such as closure of daycare or school, illness of the child, etc.

If, for example, a minimum attendance requirement for courses cannot be met due to family reasons, a substitute assignment can be requested. Also, with regard to deadlines, an extension for exams, an alternative exam date or an alternative form of examination can be requested as compensation for disadvantages.

Students who, for family reasons, are required to attend a specific compulsory course at a specific time, for example, can also submit an informal request for preferential enrollment allocation directly to the teacher before the start of the semester. Individual solutions should be found during the current semester.

Applications for compensation for disadvantages in academic assessments are submitted directly to the lecturers, while applications for examination adjustments are submitted in writing to the relevant examination board and the Examination Office (IPA).
