Family Equity
Family-friendliness means ensuring the compatibility of studies/work and care work such as childcare and nursing. The aim is to create a family-friendly university. UdK Berlin is working towards this with various measures and commitments, including
- a flexible working time regulation and a service agreement on mobile working in administration and service, which enables employees to fulfil their official duties partially independently of their place of work.
- a right to additional semesters of leave and part-time study for students with child(ren)
- the KidsMobil emergency childcare service, which can be used on request in the event of unforeseen changes in working hours or unforeseen official matters.

KidsMobil is a flexible childcare service for members of UdK Berlin who have children of a childcare-relevant age.
Adjustments for Student Parents
Students with children can submit an informal application for compensation for disadvantages in the event of special family circumstances, such as closure of daycare or school, illness of the child, etc.
Family Caregiving
The claim to the time for nursing care applies to all care degrees. This is a socially insured exemption from work for up to six months.
