Design and Urban Renewal

The Chair for Design and Urban Renewal explores architecture as a social and experiential practice, examining how spaces shape the ways we live, care, and coexist. It challenges individualized models of inhabitation by foregrounding collective life, redistributed carework, and new forms of interdependence. Each semester, real sites and communities become testing grounds for design research, narrative methods, and experiential interventions. In this way, the chair positions architecture as a transformative cultural project capable of reshaping relationships, responsibilities, and the ways we inhabit the world.
