crescendo26: GegenTöne - Counter-Tones
Counter-Tones in the bellows – the voice of the accordion – crescendino
‘May your breath remain fresh and long!’
2026 is the accordion instrument of the year.
Crescendo is celebrating this with a world premiere – and at the same time making it audible in the spirit of GegenTöne: because in the accordion, there is no vibration without resistance, no sound without air, no tone without movement. The focus of the short concert is the world premiere of Katia Tchemberdjis' Song of the Accordion for children's choir, audience and accordion ensemble, commissioned by the German Music Council.
You are cordially invited to a concert to listen and participate with young accordionists and the young singers of the Staats- und Domchor Berlin!
For children aged 5 and above and families.
Katia Tchemberdji: Lied des Akkordeons (Song of the Accordion) for children's choir, audience and accordion ensemble (world premiere)
Singers from the Kurrende des Staats- und Domchores Berlin / Junges Akkordeonensemble Berlin / Katia Tchemberdji, piano / Christine Paté, Gudrun Gierszal, conductors

The Berlin Senate has imposed enormous savings targets on public universities. You know that: An excellent musical education consists not only of the many hours of solitary practising and lessons by professors, but also, to a large extent, of performing in front of an audience. This inherent part of the training is also the opportunity for you to attend almost always free concerts at a high level. We don't want to have to cut back on this. By attending our events, you can also show those responsible in politics that music and art are meaningful for every society. And if you can: support us with small or large donations. The donations are used for teaching, tuning, transport, advertising material, for our music festival crescendo - wherever no funds can be spent at the moment. This directly benefits our students and also you as the audience, as this is the only way we can maintain events of this calibre and variety.
Thank you very much!
