Onur Özyurt: Controlled Accident – Tanz
A performance project that focuses on the fragility of the body and its transformative potential. MA Choreography graduation work.
‘’Controlled Accident” is a performance project that focuses on the fragility of the body and its transformative potential. A traffic accident - an event of shock and destruction - becomes a metaphor for the fragility of the body and its ability to reshape itself. In a controlled environment, encounters between bodies and objects are choreographed to show how new energies and forms emerge from destructive acts. These deliberate collisions are understood as creative acts that redefine the body and its relationship to the environment. What accidentally formed shapes do arise from the collision of bodies and material, sound and space? Is there a way to think productively about the energy of shock?
