Julia Wolf

Julia Wolf ist a designer, artistic researcher and educator working on material-based topics at the intersection of new material technologies and traditional craft practices.

She uses diverse media and techniques to decode the complexity of material worlds. Collaboration with scientific experts and including underrepresented perspectives is important in her artistic practice where she hopes to address the urgent topics of our times and to contribute to academic and public discourses through tangible interventions.

Her research is continuously informing her teaching practice in the shape of talks, seminars and workshops.

She holds a Diploma in Industrial Design from Stuttgart State Academy of the Arts whereas her research on material topics has led her to work across disciplines, such as textile and material design, architecture, product design and new media.

She is currently working on her artistic research project »Material Entanglements in a post-digital World«. The project is funded by the programm „Digital“ from the Berliner Chancengleichheitsprogramm BCP.
