Gastprof. Katja Aufleger
short vita
Katja Aufleger lives and works as an artist in Berlin. She studied sculpture at the University of Fine Arts Hamburg—where she completed her Master of Fine Arts in 2013—as well as spatial concept and design at AMD Hamburg.
In her sculptures, installations, and video and sound works, she alters the rules by which objects and systems function. This brings hidden processes and interdependencies to the surface, while shifting roles, relationships, and power dynamics.
Her work has been exhibited internationally, including at the Ruhrtriennale, Museum Tinguely in Basel, Hamburger Bahnhof – Nationalgalerie der Gegenwart, Neue Nationalgalerie in Berlin, Bundeskunsthalle in Bonn, Amant in New York, and the Beijing Biennale.
