Senator Zöllner visits the opening of the Graduate School

 

In October 28th 2010 the Graduate School for the Arts and the Sciences UdK Berlin openened its new venue in Berlin-Charlottenburg.

The seven scholars, who are working at the Graduate School since June 2010 are presenting their work to the public for the first time. Around 150 guests came to stoll around the rooms, look at films, music recordings, drawings and fotographies and to talk to the scholars.

Special guest of the eveneing was Prof. Dr. E. Jürgen Zöllner, Berlin Senator for Education, Sscience and Research, emphasizing the innovative character of the Graduate School in his words of welcome: With the Graduate School, the University of the Arts is taking a new and good path. It is especially interesting because artists as well as phD students can become scholars at the school. This profile is taking the needs of the developping artists especially into account.
The crossing of the traditional borders of the disciplines gives way for many exciting projects. I am convinced that the University of the UdK will get national and international attention with this programm.“ sais the Senator.
