Andrea Ploder

The sociologist, philosopher and jurist Andrea Ploder will be our guest at Jour Fixe of the Graduate School, May 25th 2013.   She will be holding a lecture with the title:

The Art of Social Research. A Very Short Introduction to Qualitative Research Methods

“Albeit their obvious differences, doing art and doing qualitative social research have quite a lot in common. This short introduction to history, process and principles of qualitative research is meant to stimulate a dialogue between artists at the Grad-School and social researchers that is likely to enrich both artistic and scientific work.“

Andrea Ploderstudied sociology, philosophy and law in Graz and Utrecht and is currently employed as a research assistant in the department of legal and social philosophy at Paris-Lodron Universität Salzburg. Her research interests include methodology and history of qualitative social research, postcolonial theory and migration research as well as questions of ethics, especially research ethics and the political responsibility of social research.
