Discussion “Moments and Gestures”

capturing subject and gender experience in Philippine Cinema

The Philippine Studies Series Berlin and our fellow Lizza May David will jointly hold a panel discussion with Filipino participants of the Berlinale Talents 2015. It will bring together documentary and feature-film filmmakers Giancarlo Abrahan, Adjani Arumpac, Sigrid Bernardo, Kiri Dalena, Joseph Laban, Sandino Martin, and Dan Villegas to discuss gender issues and representations in Philippine Cinema as well as their experiences in Philippine film production. Moderated by Tilman Baumgärtel.

This event will be the fifth lecture of The Philippine Studies Series Berlin that started in December 23, 2014. The Series, inspired by the Philippine Studies Series created by Dada Brina Docot and Edsel Yu Chua at the University of British Columbia, aims to start a conversation about the Philippines and promote Philippine studies in Berlin. Scholars and artists working on the Philippines who are based in Berlin or are passing by Berlin are invited to give lectures.

The Philippine Studies Series Berlin will continue with an artist talk with our fellow Lizza May David in April 2015. Please check further announcements on faceook.
