Gate 27 Ayvalık
Our fellow Didem Pekün is the current artist in residence in Ayvalık for the month of August.
Gate 27 is an international residency program that aims to facilitate the research and production processes of different practices and to provide a platform for interdisciplinary interaction. Gate 27 organizes public programs and events that develop communication among local and international artists, academics and cultural actors in order to enable new collaborations. Treating art as a research method, Gate 27 invites residents to partake in discourses in relation to ecology, sustainability, accessibility and local creative networks.
Gate 27 Ayvalık aims to create an experience that nurtures conceptual research and production for artists and researchers who focus on the process rather than results. Presenting an escape from urban life, this program hosts mid-career and established artists and researchers who wish to deepen their ongoing projects in seclusion.
