Salon für Ästhetische Experimente #3

"Ein Konzertabend mit algorithmischen Kompositionen"

The Salon für Ästhetische Experimente #3 presents algorithmic compositions and audio-video works by Bjoern Erlach (current fellow) as well as Alan Fabian, Pascal Fendrich, Bernd Härpfer, Siegfried Koepf, Dohi Moon and Christoph Seibert.

The programme for this evening emerged from the collaboration between the Initiative Musik and Informatik Köln – GIMIK e.V. and its member Erlach. Two setups are defining, an acoustic one in form of a computerised player piano, and an electroacoustic-visual one in form of a video projection with two channel sound.

GIMIK assembles since 30 years composers and video artists of Cologne who create their acoustic, electroacoustic and audiovisual works in the light of algorithmic methods. Since 2003, the Initiative hosts as part of the series COMPUTING MUSIC in Cologne concerts, exhibitions and lectures where the GIMIK members as well as national and international guests are invited to introduce their work. Not only in Cologne, also internationally GIMIK shows initiative, latest with the project TEAM PLAY in Santa Barbara/ California and in Seoul/ Korea. Co-founded by Klarenz Barlow in 1986, Alan Fabian, Bernd Härpfer and Siegfried Koepf took charge of GIMIK in 2002.

The Salon für Ästhetische Experimente is co-funded by the Einstein Foundation Berlin.
