Landscape as Assembly Point

With the fellows of the Graduate School Salwa Aleryani, Anthony R. Green, Rindon Johnson, Mariam Mekiwi and guests.

Can we gather to reckon with history? With landscape as our assembly point, we find our way across fields and down back roads. What we mean by history is the distinct histories of inhabiting a space. They start off in the past and carry on with continuity and variance until they arrive at this moment. #17Set against a backdrop of celestial soundscapes and fleeting images, the event brings together overarching materials, methods and vocabularies that meet at the intersection of the built environment and its interrupted fields.

The series of events is a cooperation between the Haus der Kulturen der Welt and the Graduate School at the Berlin Centre for Advanced Studies in Arts and Sciences (BAS) of UdK Berlin. Salon für Ästhetische Experimente #17 is co-funded by Einstein Foundation Berlin. The exhibitions at HKW are free of charge on Mondays and open until 7pm.
