For me, “fertig” is a magical moment, like an invisible pair of scissors cutting the umbilical cord between me and the work. Sometimes I know right away that I can’t change anything about it; other times, I need a long period of distance and a new journey to find the solution. 
“Fertig” marks the midnight hours after a long day in the studio, and at the same time, it’s the moment when I sense that something new is beginning to grow.
