Contact microphony is a miking technique in which sounds are picked up directly from physical objects. The resulting recordings are often exciting to listen to and offer an unusual insight into the interior of the object being overheard. The startup plonk develops an intuitive and innovative platform through which sound artists can explore the full sonic range of such structure-borne sound and integrate it into their own workflow.
