REAL TALKS is a lecture and discussion series that invites figures from the worlds of art and design to share insights into their artistic practice, research and working processes. The focus is not only on the presentation of works, but particularly on the often unaddressed challenges posed by the economic, social and organisational conditions surrounding artistic production. Issues such as the interplay with the art market and the wider economy, dependencies within the art system, and the opportunities and obstacles involved in project funding, grants and application processes are at the heart of the discussions.
