Climate protection management
The Universität der Künste Berlin created a position for climate protection management in 2021. Alexander Buschmann has been climate protection manager at the Berlin University of the Arts since November 2024 as part of a follow-up climate protection management project. His predecessor, Sebastian Plaga, was tasked with developing the integrated climate protection concept for the Berlin University of the Arts as part of an initial climate protection management project. This concept includes, among other things, an energy and greenhouse gas balance, a potential analysis and scenario development, as well as the development of measures for a total of 11 different fields of action. Furthermore, communication, controlling and consolidation strategies were developed with the aim of permanently anchoring and implementing climate protection at the university. This page presents activities related to the work of climate protection management.
Twenty measures have been defined for the 2024-2027 phase of climate protection management at the Berlin University of the Arts (follow-up project within the framework of the National Climate Protection Initiative).
The status of the measures is documented here and will be updated at irregular intervals.
The position of climate protection manager is funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy on the basis of a resolution of the German Bundestag within the framework of the National Climate Protection Initiative (NKI).
