About
This seminar explores embodied learning through movement, bringing together somatic practice, choreography, improvisation and neuroscience. It approaches the moving body as a site of knowledge production, asking how attention, perception, motivation and coordination shape learning and action. Working individually, in pairs and groups, students draw on the Feldenkrais Method, Crip practices, movement laboratories, improvisation, composition, touch and perceptual exercises. They investigate how movement can be perceived more consciously, unnecessary effort reduced, and new possibilities for spontaneity and action developed. The seminar emphasizes process-based artistic research rather than fixed forms or techniques. Students develop and test their own scores, exercises and reflections through observation, exchange and collective practice. A key focus is the social and political dimension of embodiment. Crip perspectives and Crip technique, alongside disability and neurodiversity perspectives, challenge normative ideas of bodies, ability, access and autonomy. Different bodily conditions, rhythms, forms of attention and communication are understood as situated forms of knowledge. The teaching format accommodates different physical conditions, perceptual modes and working rhythms. Exercises can be adapted to support different forms of participation, including rest and reduced exertion. Sessions use quiet, low-barrier spaces where possible, with simple resources such as mats, blankets, seating and beanbags. Teaching materials and organisational information are provided digitally.
