Addiction Counseling Services
An overview of support services for people at risk of or affected by addiction.
Addiction problems – such as alcohol, medication and gambling – have a negative impact on the working environment, health and safety at work, and staff performance, not to mention the personal problems faced by those affected.
As a workplace addiction counsellor, you can help! You can learn, whilst continuing to work, how to understand addiction, approach those affected appropriately and jointly initiate preventive measures. In a qualified training programme to become a part-time peer counsellor, you will learn what is important in this role. You will support the work of doctors or therapists by providing step-by-step counselling to the person concerned, their colleagues and line managers. Peer counsellors then assist in finding suitable treatment centres, support those affected during their reintegration and prepare the wider workplace for the new situation.
If you are empathetic and care deeply about maintaining the mental and physical health of your colleagues, become a peer counsellor!
