By the application deadline, upload a digital documentation of compositional works and arrangements (work samples; duration: 10 to 15 minutes) to the bemus platform: three of your own works, compositions or arrangements from the field of jazz in any instrumentation (larger instrumentations desired) plus accompanying recordings (computer playback also possible).

no more than 8 GB in total, max. 10 files
The files must be named according to the following pattern:
Surname_First_Name_Applicant_Number_Study_Content.
Admission pocedure
What happens after the application?
The admission procedure consists of the pre-selection and the entrance examination.
Those who have passed the pre-selection will be invited to the entrance examination, which is expected to take place on site at the JIB. Admission to the course is decided on the basis of the entrance examination.
The entrance examination consists of the following parts:
1. evaluation of the submitted work samples
2. predetermined composition and arrangement tasks, which are given the day before the entrance examination (length: approx. three score pages); in addition, an interview with evaluation
of the tasks takes place during the examination (duration: approx. ten minutes), and
3. colloquium (duration: approx. ten minutes).
Applicants will receive a detailed information sheet on the entrance examination with their invitation.
