The course of study

source: Matthias Heyde

This course of study prepares students for a career as orchestral players or possible soloists. It is therefore important to acquire an extensive solo repertoire as well as orchestral and ensemble work. To the benefit of students, many teachers have close professional ties with orchestras in Berlin.

Wide-ranging projects are realised by students and teachers together, often in cooperation with the departmental group “musicology and music theory”. In addition, many students of artistic instrumental instruction take part in international events at the Berlin University of the Arts (master-classes, competitions etc.).

The excellent achievements of many students and graduates in international competitions and the number of successful auditions for orchestral positions demonstrate the outstanding quality of this course of study.
