Workshop: Lola Arias
MY DOCUMENTS has a minimal format: the artist on stage with his or her documents. A way of bringing to light the kind of research that often gets lost in a nameless folder in a computer.
The KlangKunstBühne will take place from August to October 2022. This year’s lecturers are the director, actor, author and performance artist Rabih Mroué, the dancers and choreographers Josephine Ann Endicott, Bénédicte Billiet and Sophia Otto, the artist, activist and hip-hop musician Keyti, the director, filmmaker and artist Lola Arias, the composer, sound artist and researcher Yara Mekawei and the video and theatre artist Chris Kondek. They offer workshops that artistically explore the “state of in-between” via the human body as a source of acoustic treasures to hybrid media and performance strategies.

Sonic body art annexes multidimensional properties to hearing imaginations. Through different sound sources, we learn about our bodies through hearing.
This workshop is conceived as an open media/performance experiment based on B. Brecht’s Lehrstück Der Ozeanflug. The radio play is an expressionistic account of the Lindbergh’s solo flight.
The workshop will focus on the idea of being in-between state – in the state of indeterminacy, which is located in an alternative space/time vanished between two extremes.
In this workshop, bodies are guided through a guided improvisation and the work of Pina Bausch will be tried out by means of short excerpts and small tasks.
