Implementation of the "SARS-CoV-2 Infection Protection Ordinance" of the State of Berlin of 23 June 2020 at the UdK Berlin

According to § 7 sentence 5 "SARS-CoV-2-Infection Protection Ordinance" of the State of Berlin applies:

Public, private and denominational universities and their institutions may not be opened to the public until July 20, 2020. In justified cases, they may grant limited access to persons in deviation from sentence 1. Universities shall, as a rule, conduct their teaching activities in online formats and not in classroom teaching up to and including 20 July 2020. Practice formats, which require special laboratory and work rooms at the universities in particular, and examinations may be conducted. Sentence 1 shall not apply to academic libraries and the Botanical Garden.

For presence formats, attendance documentation must be kept.
The university thus remains in "restricted operation under pandemic conditions".
The previously approved practice formats and procedures shall continue to exist under the applicable hygiene and distance regulations.

From next Monday, 29 June 2020, extended building opening hours will apply:

  • Monday to Friday from 8 am to 10 pm (except on public holidays).
  • The Einsteinufer will continue to be open Monday to Friday from 7 am to 8 pm (except on public holidays).

From Monday 29 June 2020, phase 3 will apply to practical presence formats:

The scope and number of participants in these formats depends on the size of the rooms and the purpose of use - the regulations on hygiene and distance (including square metres per person in the room) apply accordingly (usually 10 square metres per person; 20 square metres for singing, drama, musical, orchestra; dance: 20 square metres; dance / ballet: 36 square metres). The risk assessments are supplemented accordingly.

Employees in administration and service continue to work primarily in their home office, provided that all tasks can be fulfilled in the home office or by switching between home office and presence. Further on, the decisions are made in detail by the superiors (in faculties and centres in coordination with the deans / directors).
