Dr. Michaela Conen

Since 2022, Dr. Michaela Conen has been the Head of the Strategic Marketing at the University of the Arts Berlin (UdK), directly reporting to the President. She is responsible for corporate branding and design, as well as the development of campaigns and strategic partnerships. She curated the "UdK x Berlin" exhibition (2026) at the University of the Arts Berlin, which was realised in cooperation with the State of Berlin and Berlin Partner. The exhibition presents works by students, lecturers, and alumni, highlighting the creative interaction between the UdK and Berlin as an inspiring urban space.

From 2016 to 2022, Dr. Conen led the Marketing and University Events Unit at the UdK Berlin.

Starting in June 2024, she will take on the role of the President’s Delegate for Antisemitism Prevention at the UdK Berlin. In this capacity, she develops initiatives and projects aimed at establishing sustainable prevention structures and raising awareness about the impact of antisemitism. She works closely with a network of experts as well as relevant national and international public institutions. As part of the UNESCO conference „Addressing Antisemitism in Higher Education“ (2025), she actively contributed as an expert and helped shape the development of guidelines for antisemitism prevention in higher education. Furthermore, she advises the Segerstedt Institute at the University of Gothenburg in Sweden, supporting and educating Swedish universities on antisemitism and its prevention. The Institute has recently been assigned a government mandate to support and educate Swedish universities on antisemitism and its prevention.

Dr. Conen is a cultural and media manager and completed her doctorate at the KMM Institute of the University of Music and Theatre Hamburg. She also teaches strategic marketing and brand management.

Additionally, she is an expert speaker and conducts lectures and workshops on topics related to antisemitism prevention, antisemitism-critical education, and cultural and media economics.

Her professional experience includes positions at the Federal Agency for Civic Education and the Jewish Museum Berlin, where she worked in both curatorial roles and in education and cultural mediation.
