Alexander Kirchner

Alexander Kirchner has been a project manager in the Interfaculty Events department at Berlin University of the Arts since March 2024.

He studied theatre studies at the University of Leipzig, the Free University of Berlin and the University of Ghent (Belgium). Since 2010 he has worked in various positions in the independent theatre scene with artists such as Florentina Holzinger, Rimini Protokoll, Hans-Werner Kroesinger and others for the Maxim Gorki Theater, the Berliner Festspiele and Dresden Hellerau. From 2015 - 2023 he was part of the dramaturgy team at Sophiensaele Berlin. He was involved in the conception and curation of the current programme and thematic festivals such as Leisure & Pleasure, Risk & Resilience and Das Ost-West-Ding. He is co-editor of the jubilee publication Openings. Sophiensaele 2011 - 2021, which was published by Alexander Verlag. He also accompanied the Berlin Performing Arts Festival for several years and was a mentor at the International Theatre Institute (ITI) in 2022/23.
