Henning Gutfleisch

Since August 2026, Henning Gutfleisch has served as an advisor on antisemitism to the President of the Berlin University of the Arts. His primary responsibilities include:
- providing expert advice to the University Management on current developments in the field of antisemitism,
- supporting individuals affected by antisemitism, including the processing and structured disclosure of incoming reports,
- designing, implementing, and evaluating antisemitism-critical workshops and further education at UdK Berlin.
Alongside his work at the UdK Berlin, he is pursuing a PhD at the University of Wuppertal under the supervision of Prof. Dr Julia König, focusing on the conditions of antisemitism-critical education after Auschwitz. Mr. Gutfleisch also is a Fellow of the London Centre for the Study of Contemporary Antisemitism. His research areas are: antisemitism, Critical Theory, and educational theory.
Previously, he worked as an education officer at the Berlin Competence-Centre for Antisemitism-Critical Education and Research (2024–2025), as a freelancer at the Jewish Museum Frankfurt (2023–2024), and as a research assistant in educational sciences at Goethe-Universität Frankfurt am Main (2019–2022) and the Bremen University (2018–2019). He studied cultural anthropology, sociology, and educational science in Heidelberg and Santiago de Chile.
