Post-disciplinary Colloquium: Territorial Trajectories
The last colloquium for 2025 brings together three projects that critically examine space, environment and social dynamics.
Increasingly artists are faced with the decision of whether a doctorate is necessary to be appointed to a professorship, and if so, which path and institution make the most sense. Terms such as artistic research, hybrid doctorate or artistic PhD repeatedly raise many questions, including new ones.
In conversation with Prof. Dr. Anke Haarmann (HAW Hamburg), Prof. Dr. Edith Kollath (Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences) and Prof. Nik Haffner (UdK Berlin), we explore key questions relating to artistic research and possible academic career paths for artists.
For example: How do artistic researchers deal with working creatively while also meeting academic requirements? Is it even possible to do both? Where do other countries, states or universities stand on the subject of artistic research?
What questions do you have? The event offers space for active participation and exchange on your questions.
The event is a collaboration between the Berlin Centre for Advanced Studies in Arts and Sciences (BAS), the Mentoring-Programm Prof*me (UdK Berlin) and the DiGiTal Graduate Program (coordinated at the TU Berlin).
