Hintergründe – begleitendes Seminar zum Salon

Since 2011, the Salon für Ästhetische Experimente established itself at different locations in the city and created its own public. This year the salons take place at Haus der Kulturen der Welt (HKW).

The series of events serves the international fellows of the Graduate School as a platform to test their research questions, methods, approaches and work processes in front of and in exchange with the audience. The result are differing experimental evenings at the interface between art and science. Curator Prof. Jan Vorwoert (Visiting Professor and Supervisor for fellows of the Graduate School Nov. 2016 - Sep. 2018) gives insight in the artistic modus operandi behind the scenes of the salons. The seminar takes place from April to July at HKW before the events start. In group discussions and close readings of texts that are related to the salons, artistic processes are reconstructed: how do you get from an open thematic horizon to artistic peak?

Together, we develop an understanding for the contexts that present themselves in different artistic forms in the salons. Attending the salons is part of the seminar.

The seminar takes place in German.
