Agnes Meyer-Brandis

METEOROS - In the Air

METEOROS is about objects in the air. It explores things and moments that oscillate between falling and floating. Meyer-Brandis describes METEOROS as artistic research into reality that deals with meteorites, space debris, interstellar dust, craters, electrons and telescopes, that is, with the margins of what is already known and explored, with the margins of what is defined as reality.

Agnes Meyer-Brandis lives and works in Cologne and Berlin. After one year of studying mineralogy in Aachen, she switched to Kunstakdemie Düsseldorf and Kunsthochschule für Medien in Köln. Meyer-Brandis’ work circumscribes the intersection of art and science and has been shown at numerous international exhibitions and festivals. It explores the borders between fact and fiction, fantasy and technology. In 2007, Agnes Meyer-Brandis carried out an artistic experiment in the absence of gravity during at research flight organized by the German Aerospace Center.
